Most of the low cost housing in rural (and some urban) areas of Bangladesh are made using woven bamboo for walls. The woven walls are then attached to the framework of the house, left exposed, or covered in mud for extra reinforcement.
We took a liking to this aesthetic and used this woven pattern as inspiration for the print on our 'Gather Round' silk top... available soon!
